You are here Home / Kylie’s International Blog Hop-Sympathy
Hello friends! Its about time I took part in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Hop again! This month is featuring Sympathy cards. Now, I know that these are quite possibly the hardest cards to make and send. After all, its a sympathy card, right? Hopefully the talented crafters in the hop will give you some inspiration-whether you are a keep-it-simple or someone who likes to “wow,” I’m sure there is something for you in this hop! This is a vote-for-me blog hop, so head on over HERE and vote for your favorites! The top ten get to participate in a blog hop of their own!
I decided to look at the Hello Friend stamp set. Its not a sympathy set per say, but the wreath in the set is gorgeous and kind of reminds me of a funeral plot wreath. I decided to stay with 2 neutral colors, Emerald Envy and Crumb Cake, with a pop of white embossing powder. Here it is!
The layers are as follows:
-Crumb Cake top layer (with wreath): 4″ by 3″
-Whisper White layer-4 x 1/8″ by 3 x 1/8″
-Emerald Envy layer-4 x 1/4″ by 3 x 1/4″
-Crumb Cake base is 5 x 1/2″ by 8 x 1/2″ scored at 4 x 1/4″
I used my precision stamping tool (I have the Stampoholic) to stamp that wreath 3 times. I got a good, dark wreath that way. Then, I used Versamark and White Embossing powder to do the flowers. The sentiment is from the Better Together stamp set.
You’ll want to add a piece of Whisper White on the inside so that you can write. I used a stamp from the Thoughts and Prayers set to finish the card off. I just forgot to take a picture of the inside!
