Splatter card using Aqua Painters

Hello there!  I have been in a blue mood lately-Marina Mist, Island Indigo, Dapper Denim…I’ve been pulling those out more and more!  Maybe because I’m seeing such lovely holiday cards using blues and silvers?  That’s my favorite holiday color duo, so maybe my subconscious is just sending me to those colors in preparation for holiday card making.  Who knows?  In any case, I’ve a lovely splatter card for you today!

Splattering is one of those great techniques to have on hand, as it gives you a different outcome every time!  Grab your Aqua Painters, your brayer, some ink pads, and you are set to go!  This may get a little bit messy…

Stampin Up Detailed Dragonfiles. Stampin Up Aqua Painter. Cardmaking techniques. Splatter card. Stampin Up Swirly Scribbles. Stampin Up hello.

First off, I brayered (a brayer is kind of like a paint roller, just smaller!) using Dapper Denim, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party on watercolor paper.  I tried to make it gradient like, making sure the colors overlapped so to create a more streamlined gradient.  Then, using the same colors, I did some splattering with the Aqua Painters.  I think most of the splatters were Dapper Denim and just plain ol’ water!  You’ll want to dry this with your heat tool before you assemble your card.

Finish the card off by adding die cut elements from Swirly Scribbles, Dragonfly Dreams, and (whoops!) the retired Hello You sets.  I am usually pretty good about taking retired product out of my current product stash, but somehow this die set missed the cut!  You could use any sentiment that you have on hand, or make a banner or punch out a label using the Pretty Label set.  Finish off by putting some Glitter Enamel dots around. Man, I love those things.

All the materials are below-click on the image to be taken right to my shop!  If you are in need of a demonstrator, I’d love to be yours!  I’m doing a special thank you to my customers this month!  Spend  $50 or more (before tax/ship), use host code YAJTHQQV at checkout, and receive a freebie in the mail from me!  Just a little way to say thanks for supporting my Stampin’ Up! business!
