You are here Home / Celebrate Ice Cream!
Did you know that today is National Ice Cream Day? Of course, the kids and I had to go get some (even though we went yesterday…but hey, I didn’t know!). I decided to make a totally sweet card with the Cool Treats stamp set and dies in honor of Ice Cream Day.
-Tempting Turquoise base 5 1/2″ by 8 x 1/2″ (scored on long side at 4 1/4″)
-Whisper White layer 5 1/4″ by 4″
-Whisper White layer for brayering, 5″ by 3 x 3/4″ (although I usually make it bigger, brayer, then trim)
-Whisper White for the cones and circle
-Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Bermuda Bay and Wisteria Wonder
-Sponge Brayer, dimensionals, Glitter Enamel Dots
To make, take your sponge brayer and lay on (from top to bottom): Wisteria Wonder, Tempting Turquoise and Bermuda Bay. I overlapped the colors a bit! I always use a bigger sheet of cardstock when I work with a brayer, and start the roll outside of the area I want to end up using. That way, you won’t get a bunch of streaky color in your finished project.
Next, take the Cool Treats stamp set and use Bermuda Bay and Tempting Turquoise for the ice cream tops. Just do one background in each blue, then the contrasting color for the stripes. I did the cones in Crumb Cake on Whisper White. Die cut all using the Frozen Treats dies. Then, use the Stitched Shapes framelits to cut out a big circle in Whisper White, and use Wisteria Wonder for the little candy stamp pieces. Stamp the sentiment in Bermuda Bay and add some Glitter Enamel Dots to decorate!
