Global Design Project #GDP080-Masked Embossing card!

Hello there!  For this #GDP080-Case the Designer, I decided to try my hand at masking my embossing!  I saw this technique on youtube, and I thought it was super pretty.  Its very easy to do as well-like with any masking, just put a piece of paper down where you don’t want your embossing to go, then ink up, powder, and emboss!

I ripped the masking paper a bit to create a jagged edge.  Using the Flower Shop and Jar of Love stamp sets, I embossed with Versamark and white embossing powder.  Taking a big sponge (like this one, which is my favorite!) I sponged Pacific Point over the top, then wiped off any excess ink off the embossed parts.  Stampin up butterfly. Stampin up cards. Cardmaking. Embossing.

Then, I took the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies to do the “frame” for the butterfly.  I took a large scalloped frame, cut it out, then using a smaller regular oval, cut out the middle.  I also used my Bold Butterflies and Butterflies Thinlits dies to cut out a Real Red and Vellum butterfly!  I trimmed the butterfly edges off so it looked like it was part of the frame.  The sentiment came from the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set.

I added a few metal rimmed pearls and layered it onto Pacific Point cardstock!

I hope you like the card!  Leave a comment if you are able!  To see all of the other gorgeous projects for this CASE, go to the Global Design Project!
