You are here Home / Global Design Project #076-Case the Designer!
I’m back with the Global Design Project 076-Case the Designer! This week’s CASE is from the talented Kylie Bertucci of Australia. She heads up the GDP and its always a treat to see her work. Here’s her card for inspiration and CASEing:
I chose to turn the card onto its long end, but kept the long strip down the middle. Here’s what I came up with!
To make, take a strip of Whisper White that is 5 1/4″ by 2 3/4″ and emboss using black embossing powder and the letters from the Layered Letters stamp set. Once dried, sponge Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight, making sure to overlap the colors a bit. Stamp some splotches from the Swirly Bird stamp set and Basic Black ink. Cut 2 strips of Basic Black cardstock 5 x 1/4″ by 1/4″ and glue so that only a little shows around the embossed paper. I used a piece of Melon Mambo (5 x 1/4″ by 4″) and used the same splotches around the edges. Using dimensionals, put the strip down (I chose to do it a little off center).
End with putting a piece of cat hair on the card…sorry about that. Our cat is in major shed mode right now.
What do you think? This is a super easy card and you can use that Layered Letters set to make any word that you want! I found that using a stamp positioner (I have the Stampaholic-its kind of like the Misti) makes placement of the letters (esp. if you have a double letter, like this “l”) a whole lot easier. Here’s what I have: Stampoholic Stamping Tool.
