Simple Post it Note holder

With the holidays coming up, I want to give you some ideas on fun, simple and cost effective gifts that are perfect for your co-workers, teachers, coaches and anyone else who deserves a little surprise gift!  Our local stores are cleaning out their school supplies, so I was able to snatch up some cheap post it notes.  I saw the purple ones and immediately thought “looks like Sweet Sugarplum!.”

Stampin' Up! Sweet Sugarplum. Stampin' Up! post it note holder. Stampin' Up! Pop of Pink DSP.

Here’s what you’ll need to make these holders:

-A piece of cardboard for the base (6″ x 4″).  I use the bottom cardboard from the 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper stacks-they make perfect bases for this, plus I get to use up the ones that I have cluttering my piles lol.
-A 6″ x 4″ piece of Designer Series paper.  I used the Pop of Pink DSP for the purple post it, and Moroccan DSP for the yellow post it holder.
-A piece of cardstock in a coordinating color that is 5 x 1/2″ by 3 x 1/2″.  I used Sweet Sugarplum and Dapper Denim for my samples here.
A piece of Whisper White cardstock 2″ by 3 x 1/4″ for the sentiment
-Coordinating ribbon (used Sweet Sugarplum and Emerald Envy here).  You’ll need a piece long enough to wrap around the entire holder, plus a 2″ piece for the pen holder.
-Flourishing Phrases clear mount stamp set
-Dapper Denim, Sweet Sugarplum and Emerald Envy inks
-Magnet strips, if you choose to make these with a magnetic background
-Tape Runner and Glue dots
-Post it notes

Just start from the bottom and build up!  Use a lot of glue/tape, especially on the post it note itself, so it doesn’t fall off.  For the pen holder, take the 2″ piece of ribbon and glue the ends together to make a loop.  Glue the loop end directly under the bottom of the post it note pad, leaving the loop itself above the post it note. Insert pen.  Voila.
