Twisted Hearts-a sketch challenge!

Hey everyone!  I’d like to share with you my entry into the Global Design Project #022 Sketch Challenge! GDP022This is a wonderful sketch that can be used in so many ways-keep it simple, or jazz it up with layers and embellishments!

I decided to do a Valentine’s Day card, with a twist!  I follow quilt makers (no, I don’t quilt, I just love seeing the designs!) and wanted to try to use a quilt block design on this card.  Here’s the result:

Global Design Project Sketch Challenge

Other than the cutting, cutting, cutting of all those little pieces, this is a pretty simple card!  The inspiration for the heart came from The Bitchy Stitcher (lol, love this blog name!).  I printed out the photo of the quilt block at 25% so it would fit on the corner of the page.  I marked each with a number, cut, and placed each cut piece on a bigger photo of the same heart so I could keep track of the pieces.

The Designer Series Paper is retired, but take a look at the current DSP “Everyday Chic” “Timeless Elegance,” or “Typeset.”  All 3 of those DSP stacks have good alternatives!

Card base is Pink Pirouette, and I used Rose Red and the Love Blossoms DSP for the bitty heart pieces.  Sentiment is from the Bloomin’ Love stamp set.  The ribbon is Pink Pirouette Seam Binding ribbon.
